Newly Diagnosed Users Page

As a young African American woman who has recently been diagnosed with breast cancer, you may feel overwhelmed with all the new information you are receiving. You may wonder if there are many other young African American women like you who you can talk to. You may also wonder what stage of cancer you have, what cancer stages mean, what treatment options you have, what types of questions to ask your doctor, how treatment will affect your quality of life, and who you can talk to for guidance and support. The YSI Program endeavors to provide African American YBCS with emotional and informational support to address these issues. As a newly diagnosed woman you may find sections 1, 3, and 8 most helpful, as well as the “Helpful Web Sites and Resources” page.
